NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR ITASCA PARK DISTRICT 

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the Itasca Park District for 2025, for all Park District purposes for the period commencing on May 1, 2025, and ending on April 30, 2026, will be held on November 17, 2025, 6:00 p.m., at 350 E Irving Park Road, Itasca IL, 60143.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $2,302,963.03. 

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $2,602,348.24. This represents a 13% increase over the previous year. 

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 were $575,740.76 (Bonds & Interest). 

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public commission leases for 2025 are $582,541.00 (Bonds & Interest). This represents an approximate increase of 1.18% from the previous year. 

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $2,878,703.79. 

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2025, for all Park District purposes for the period commencing on May 1, 2025 and ending on April 30, 2026, are $3,184,889.24. This represents a 10.6% increase from the previous year. 

All hearings shall be open to the public. The corporate authority of the taxing district must explain the reasons for the proposed levy and shall permit persons desiring to be heard an opportunity to present testimony within reasonable time limits as the authority determines.
