Support Needed for OSLAD Grant Application for Country Club Park Improvement
The Itasca Park District is seeking public support for an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant to fund 50% of the costs for improvements to Country Club Park for an estimated $750,000 project.
This grant would support the Park District’s efforts to enhance the space for the benefit of the entire community. The goal is to revitalize the park to better serve residents of all ages with safe, accessible, and welcoming outdoor opportunities. Project elements include the replacement of the 2005 playground equipment, turf, and basketball court. Additions will bring exciting new features, including a Gaga ball pit, a zip-line element, pollinator gardens, and game tables, along with an expansion of the west sidewalk to ensure full ADA accessibility.
If awarded, the Park District would oversee the grant administration, project development, and ongoing maintenance. Your support is crucial in bringing this vision to life; please consider signing the petition below.
Your feedback is important and will help shape the final design of this project. The key difference between the two concepts is whether the park should feature back-to-back basketball courts or a single half-court with bank shots. We invite you to share your input at one of our park pop-up events at Country Club Park, located on Country Club Drive and Surrey Lane in the Country Club Park Division.
Tuesday, September 9 from 4–5 pm or Saturday, September 13 from 10–11 am
